Christmas Knitting Continued

I promise pics will be posted before the end of the week. I think I have about 20 rows left til I can do the toes on Mom's socks. I did 20 rows tonight wwhich equals 2 and a half repeats. I would like to think 4 repeats will be long enough but I think its gonna take 5. My goal for right now is blocking Wednesday morning. Fingers crossed.

I got my 6 discloths done and they are sitting on my couch, wrapped around soap and tied with ribbon waiting to go into gift bags for the family. I am working on a few more for some additional people that will need gifts but i think some can wait until after the holiday so I have time.

I actually did some wrapping today and hope to get some more done tomorrow and my final shopping done Tues and wrapping Wednesday. Long week ahead but will end nicely.

Next project: Gwen Slouch with Yak/Merino for ME!!

Keep on swimming, keep on swimming.....

Thats what I feel like today. I really should be knitting those silly socks! I just don't feel motivated. Something is seriously wrong with my wrist and it is really uncomfortable to knit. Crochet is a little better. Working on some discloths and am up to 4 done with a 5th on the hook. Should get the 6 I need by Christmas done without too much heart burn. Pics will be posted soon. Just havin trouble with that for some reason.

Found a sitter for New Years Eve so I can go be stupid with bestest. We are getting all dolled up and going out to who knows where. Then its the Bacon, Cheese and Chocolate potluck on the second. Then on the 14th I leave for Paris!!!!!! SOOOOOOO excited. This next few months is gonna be crazy but it will be awesome too.

Christmas Knitting

So I am determined to finish a pair of socks for my mother for Christmas. And these are not just any socks. These are knee high, cabled socks from hell.

The Treetop Socks from Knitty have turned out to be a challenging but not impossible project. The charts leave a bit to be desired but I am relatively certain that the designer is working on correcting the issues. I am knitting these socks on size 1 circs and using handspun yarn from Twist of Fate Spinnery right here in Ct. I believe the yarn is an alpaca merino blend and it is very soft. I am really happy with how they are turning out and hope I can finish in time. I am at the gussets for both socks so fingers crossed.

I am also working on some washcloths for everyone that will be paired with soaps from Bayberry Meadows (find her on Etsy). Looking forward to giving the handmade gifts!

Suppose I should post more

I'm guessing once a year is bad. Oh well.

Lots going on...... starting my last semester of undergrad in Feb and applying to law school. Crazy nervous and excited all at the same time. Newly elected the secretary/treasurer for my union. Single again which kinda sucks. Just chugging through everyday.

Workin on some knitting for Christmas. Knee socks for mom, washcloths for the rest and made some jewelry for my sis.

Think thats about it for now.........
